Diary and notes of my daily routine.

Quote: Yes, I did! Thanks for reminding me! All fluids and food tubed should be about 100-102f. Do not microwave as this heating method can cause hot spots in food, which can cause nasty burns!

Note that actual weight should be 1690, not 1890.

Some of you might find this interesting... The bird I fed 123 ml to three hours ago just got weighed again and his current weight is only 100 grams more, so that means that in three hours he has pooped and or evaporated out/off 23 grams.

Reminds me of a childhood cartoon where Jerry stuck a water hose in Tom and turned on the faucet. The Tom balloned up and rolled down the hill. Be very, very careful!

Oh, I'm careful. I did this with the peachick and with a couple of blind chickens that I tube daily. Of course they only get 120 ml if their crops are empty. will be interesting to see how much they weigh tomorrow morning with empty crops.

I would compare the morning weight before breakfast for a couple of days to get a sense of real gain or loss. That would be the time after he defecates and before he eats.
I agree... I always try to weigh them at the same time on an empty crop, but it doesn't always happen. With this guy I'm just trying to collect data in order to help others come up with feeding programs. Never kept track like this before and I'm surprised by how much goes in for a very small gain.
