By the way, I went down to go tube feed him again and I noticed that he had less food in his dish. He must have been eating on his own! I still gave him water through the tube because his crop felt empty, but then I added some food to his dish and he pecked at it. Oh, I'm so happy. I was sure that I was going to lose him. Thank-you everyone for the prayers!

This is the first time that he has eaten food in a week.

Woohoo!

Hopefully he continues improving!

No I didn't. I was offering scrambled eggs and his normal feed 24-7 and I was also bringing cheese down to him. I know he still has a long way to go, but this is a big step.

Pop quiz for anyone who might know, she was bought at a farmers market and was just wondering what she might be as i have never had a chicken before that lays greeny blue eggs??

looks like a chicken egg. Blue egg layers include Legbars, Araucana, Ameraucana and cross breeds such as easter eggers. Green normally means a blue crossed with a dark brown egg layer - marans and wellsummers

I am 30 mins north of Tulsa. Normally this trip would be to Abilene but a different family member decided to host the reunion. Royse City is south east of Dallas I think, Little far for a meet up.

Second chick officially hatched!!

On another note... I just noticed these tiny insects floating in the water. I can only imagine they are from the hay. Anyone know what they are and if they matter?
