BUT I did not think to specify DO NOT SEND DIRTY EGGSlesson learned........ she acted like all this was old news and she was a pro and did it all the time.......![]()
How should I start the email to her.... should I ask for more eggs and offer to pay shipping? What if she gets mad at me????

Quote: I agree x2
did not get them from ebay... she has a web-site and I went to her ............Hi:
I received your eggs and am appalled at the condition of them. They are grossly contaminated and have little chance of hatching. Furthermore, they risk contaminating all the other eggs in my incubator
Selling eggs on ebay/byc is a business. As a professional, you have the obligation to ship me the best eggs in the best condition. You did not meet your obligation. I expect a full refund including shipping immediately.
if that does not get your money back add
Failure to do so will force me to file a dispute with paypal and show the advert, our corespondence and the filth you call eggs in an open letter on BYC so others can see who I am dealing with.
so what if she gets mad at you!!!!!!!!!!!
Quote: Should I pip them all and add moisture to the inner membrane?
I pipped 5 that are chirping and added moisture. The peeps are strong and loud. I didn't detect any movement or sounds in the other 15.
Another update. we have 10 eggs that are alive. 3 are chirping and I have started assisted hatch and have the shell removed so they can break out of the liner when they are ready. I have 7 others that are alive and we artificially pipped for them and my wife rubbed bacitraycin on them to moisten them. We are following the step by step guide to assisted hatching and she is reading and telling me what to do. I am a little unclear about the 7 that don't have a pip in the lining. They are moving. Are they simply not ready? I have added moist paper towels to several eggs. We have filled up the water troughs and cleaned out all the dead eggs and extra shells. I hope we can get a few more chicks out of all of this.
Quote: Why he says you still need a refund! I'd be PO'd too
Great letter, BTW
Mikkles, the going heat rate in the beginning should be 90-95 for the first week. Lower it by 5 deg each week till the temp reaches room temp. i learned this the hard way and killed off a couple of chicks I had bought when I first started keeping chickens. Hope that helpsi can't seem to find, how warm does everyone keep their brooder boxes with brand new just hatched chicks? thanks!![]()
