ok now I am out! You got this DOUG it could take until tomorrow morning to get them out! patients is key at this stage! I know you want to move on but you cant YET!

Ok I need advice now! I went to check on my ducks last 2 eggs and 1 was doa, pipped above its yolk and turns pipped the other side on the bottom but didnt pip the shell only the external membrane. The other one the whole side was open and crushed we thought she was gone too but we warmed her up and she moved. Anyway we could see yolk so left her in the bator. Her yolk is ruptured and belly distended still. I just check and since she pipped in the middle the yolk is up by her beak like its seeping. What do I do? Should I leave her or take her put and tie her cord? HELP!!!!

bellah you have her in front of you, I think you need to make your best guess with all you have learned, BUT be prepared before you start!
If the yolk is ruptured yes you need to tie it off, you know the routine, the poor girl awwww I am so sorry, but have some faith ok? How active is the little thing?

Wonder how the OZoBator is going????

Its going

It a complicated design as I am building it so I can pull it apart and fit it into a standard shipping box that is 62 linear inches (for the plane) - 18 x 18 x 24, so the body is those dimensions and the heating and electronics will be in a six inch addition above. That will give me room for 3 shelves but plenty of ventilation.

it will be 1/4 laminated "white board" inside and out with 3/4 foam insulation sandwiched between,

I needed to cut all the 1x2 frame for each sandwiched board. as well as he panels and the 2x2 frame that the "sandwiched boards" will screw to - all in all over 50 cuts.

I still have to cut the door - a 1x4 frame with pocket screws and a double pane plexi glass door.

I will do the basic wiring tonight then glue and put it all together tomorrow. I am one length of 2x2 s a box of 2 1/2 inch screws short..

Off to home depot at 7 am

I've assisted 3 of my broodys in the past 3 days so I know what to do. I just wasnt sure if I should tie it off now or leave her in until her belly went down or if its better to get her out now?! I think the yolk might be a lil smelly since she's been in the bator for almost 2 hours

then do the same as the other one, active and peeping is good. she isn't foaming at the mouth is she?
