The other 2 that hadn't absorbed their yolks year their bellys are pouched a bit and then as they absorbed that yolk their belly shrunk til the yolk was gone and tummy normal. Bitteroot, how many watts is your emitter? I have gone through three of them for my coop, and the filament or whatever the heater element is just doesn't last, and they cost at least twice as much as the infrareds. I would like to change out the 250W IR bulb over my brooder with an emitter so the chicks can get a good night's sleep. I tried sleeping on the couch next to the brooder and it was WAY to bright to think about sleeping.

It's 150 watts.

Yikes Sally, wish I'd seen that info before I bought this, that's really scary stuff! Thankfully I'm obsessive about temps or I never would have known there was a problem. I picked it up to flip it over to see what the surface temp was, and it darn near burned me.

Saying a little prayer for those assisting hatches. Fingers crossed for positive outcomes on all counts.

this was griffin one of 3 reds we had at one point ... he was turken not showgirl like the other one ... but pretty to me ... he was in quarantine here right after we adopted him

How long ago did it start doing it to u? I have an iPhone and just one day instead of it just going directly to my camera roll to pick the pics I want to post it asks for some code or URL. I can't even use the smiley faces that require you to press the "more" underneath the basic ones

bellah1, I've never been able to. from my phone anyway.haven't tried the computer lately.
