I guess the price is up to were you live. Here chicks go for $3 straight run and $4chicks. Unless of course you have Heritage breeder birds.

They seem to go for between $4 and $8 around here. It does seem like a lot. I paid $5 for mine. Maybe I will reduce the price today. I am going to hold off on putting any more in the incubator for a while until I sell some of these.

After this hatch, not including the hatching eggs I have coming today, That;s what I'm doing too. Going to sell these first that are hatching today.

Poorchickie made a couple of loud chirps and went to sleep. He wasn't right. In the sense that I think his body was partly twisted. Everytime I tried to lay him on his other side it would flip back over. So strange. There was two others the same breed and these were hatched normal. Well I tried. Poor thing. Rip little one.

Sally my bator is cleaned and stored and will not be coming back out until August or so.

NO FRIGGEN WAY!!!! CHICKS! I swear I will get there by june!

I have 7 pips!!!!! I'm so excited! How long from pip to zip... Yes I know this question has been asked a bazillion times. It's only late on day 19 so my remaining ones still have time. And peeping! Lots of peeping! And wiggling! The ONE egg from my favorite hen hasn't pipped yet but is in there rolling and jiggling. I will apologize in advance for the thousand times I tell you all about my peeps and the dozen questions I ask every hour because oh yessss it's gonna happen!

I hope I run into an update!

ARRRRGGG I wish I could hatch ducks right now!!! Except... The Drama Department still has my bator and idk where to find some duck hatching eggs cause I don't know if my neighbors ducks are laying... >.<

My 4th and final duck egg pipped sometime during the night Monday night... No further activity so far... Should I be worried? The other 3 pipped sometime early Sunday morning and started zipping Monday afternoon. 1 hatched Monday late evening, the other two in the wee hours of Tuesday morning...

I'm still trying to figure out what chicks to sell to make room for the 30 I just put in the bator?

Are these from your own eggs? You are better off listing as a LOT. not individually. And take gorgeous photos, take some out in the fresh green grass if you can. I look at it this way, if I place the ad and they don't sell in a week, I will sell them cheap as a lot.... say I normally wanted 5 bucks a silkie, I would place the ad 5 for 20 or 10 for 30. I don't try to make money off of shipped eggs as it doesn't pay at all. But if you sell your own chicks for a buck a pcs its still profit, as eatings eggs are less than 3 bucks a dozen right? I have found that the people that come for my bulk chicks are my most favorite. Sometimes I get high and mighty people that have no clue about chicks and I love talking chicken but when I have 5 kids running around I don't have 5 hrs to explain how to make a brooder! why come for chicks not prepared!!!

What I mean is I go away for a while and I don't know where I left off. Then Im 5 pages behind or 15.

I didn't have a good hatch. I only got 6 chicks out of 41 shipped eggs. A third didn't have anything in them. Another third died after the first or second week. The rest except for 5 died in their shells the last days. I had to help 3 of the 5. The other bator had half hatch out of 41. They were half shipped eggs and half bought from someone I found out later that had washed them. I got one chick from the shipped eggs in that bator. But he is sending me more eggs.

I am in Austin Texas at the Texas Grain and Feed Annual Meeting.

On another note. Ive already started 3 bators with 123 more eggs of which 29 are shipped and 5 are turkey and 4 dozen are Buff Orpington's and the rest from my Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Rooster and hens and Two Buff Orp hens and I have the replacement eggs coming next week for the other bator.

Also, I think my soda machine is holding good temps. I just have to figure out humidity because it don't have any. About 18 to 24% is all. I guess Ill add more bowls close to the light bulbs. Then im going to set a bunch of my own eggs for a trial run.

I am so sorry about the hatches Doug! and OMG 123??? don't they sell those humidly little thingers for bigger bators? oz should know. that was such an educated sentence!! lol

how i got my name .. silver is for sibil ... but most people have always said silver instead of sibil .... not sure why lol and the 1313 in for my oldest child... .. and silver is so popular in many forums , so years ago i tacked on the 1313 for my son .....

got to go track my eggs again .. thinking they will be here either in the morning or the next morning at the latest

so excited for my first shipped eggs ... and nervous too !!!!

had a long day hanging out with my friend then watched a movie with DD... was great .... will do some more catching up in the morning !!!!
