Quote: I did notice that some have a lot of goop left in the shells, I never do. Another question is Why do I not and some people do? my eggs don't stink at all in the bator, very rarely is there even a small stringy thing left in the eggs. All I have left is a paper thin clear pinkish dry membrane... I will go grab some shells to snap a pic... I wonder if its humidity related or something.
Hey Wing... I don't know yet, DH don't like to do anything. I sold all my birds this past weekend. At least all that needed to go. And prizm sara from NE is getting ducks and marans, so I don't think I will have anything. The eggs in the bator are 3 doz of chads, the ducks my 3 turkey and CCL, and buttons and my winning T Polish eggs I am giving to sara sweatman when they hatch.Sally, are you going to the picnic/swap at galgo's ???
good place to sell some birds.
Quote: Makes sense! and yup that's why I am searching.... in the nest and in the wild chicks would have access to all of that shtuff. still searching University stuff.
Yes they would. I wonder if it really is beneficial for them.
I don't think that they need the extra calcium and it could potentially damage their livers in large amounts.
Let the records show that I'm simply thinking "out-loud" I could be 100% wrong, haha.
me to, as usualand that also was in my thoughts, and then I added to those thoughts.... can egg shell have any effect on gizzards and possibly have a grit like effect on a baby chick? But I will be darned if I can find a thing about it!![]()

I've had eggs perfectly clear with just thin membranes, but I have also had eggs with big goops of stuff left in them. I've never really thought about it before though...
