Sorry I haven't been on for awhile, I had not much to report. Thanks to Hatching 101, Sally and a separate hatching incubator, I am having better luck with shipped eggs. I had six ams from somebody on some swap, can't remember who because I claimed like six offers of various am eggs. Anyway, two hatched today after I put them in lockdown on Friday.
Today is day 21. I candled as I put them into the hatching incubator and I only saw movement in two, so when two of them hatched, I figured: " that's my two" and I pulled them out, effectively breaking lockdown. I had the sense to candle the rest of them and I noticed that three of them were internally pipped and as soon as I shone the candler in there, they started chirping. There were two buckeyes that were dead in shell (but I'm incubating at 102 to weed out the boys, so I can assume that these were boys?)
So I put the three chirpers back in the hatching bator, spritzed it with water and closed the top and I am now resisting the almost overwhelming urge to obsessively candle them. Will post pics when they decide to grace us with their presence.
