Diary & Notes ~ Air Cell Detatched SHIPPED Chicken Eggs for incubation and hatching

Sally, Oz, and everybody participating in this thread, I wanted to say THANK YOU for guiding my first shipped egg hatching experience. I purchased my eggs from a BYCer who did an excellent job packing, and all of the eggs were intact (and fertile) but had taken quite a beating en route--I had 4 detached air cells and 4 saddles (none of the ones with detached cells made it all the way to hatch). I didn't post any questions along the way because you have covered the process quite thoroughly!

Sooo...Greetings from my 5-day old Silkies, Jack Fuzzy and Peach! Without the tremendous wealth of information to which I had access these past weeks, these little ones would not have made it.

I love this, it's great. Your perception is your reality. hehee This summer when I'm sweating it out, picking beans, tomatoes and weeding, I'm gonna borrow this perception and see if I can make it my reality too! haha It's be a wacky, wonky weather ride this year so far.

By now I would already have my garden tan going on for sure. I'm just hoping now we can all get a summer garden. . .

Congrats!! Yes, so much information, knowledge and wisdom from so many folks. . .and lots of fun too! Sally has a great knack for people and chickens. . .and ducks. . .and dogs. . .and kids. . .and well, you get it!

Oh dear... I lost another pullet today. I actually saw the hawk come down and take my chick... It was heartbreaking.

CONGRATULATIONS Becky. A Silkie egg started this thread of Sally's so I love it when people are successful hatching them.

Some need to just get info, others need confirmation. Either way, it great that people get something from the site.

As for me,I am continually learning. Questions and statements from here send me into research and I just keep on learning.

Enjoy your new chickens.
