Right now having some issues with constipation from the Percocet, not sure what to do for him. He is moaning fairly well right now

step 1

get him off Percocet ASAP. Seriously strong stuff.

step 2

he needs to drink lots of water as the narcotic in percocet is slowing down his GI tract and it is absorbing too much water from his poop

mineral oil orally - and ducolax till he has slippery poop lol

dont give sudden high doses of fiber laxatives

Thanks, I think I need to give him the hen treatment of Epsom salts as a laxative cleanser but add a little lemon juice for taste

His mom is stopping over tomorrow, she can deal with him for a while, think I will take a drive somewhere, sit at the end of the driveway and lockmyself in the car.

They should have sent him home with a stool softener, Colace? Little orange capsule? My hubs swears by Percocet and it is always accompanied by those stool softeners.

Nope nothing, I even asked about it! Nurse didn't think he had any diet restrictions or any other meds he should need besides Tylenol. Oz isn't Tylenol in Percocet with oxycodone? why would that be on his paperwork, he cant take it in addition to. He better not be either, I told him don't take Tylenol!

Really? About it being strong. I've often wondered why it was prescribed so much. Its the army's go to pain med these days. It has no effect on me whatsoever. Neither does vicodin. I'm starting to feel weird because nothing works. i have a pretty big surgery coming up and am worried what they will send me home with if none of the normal stuff works...scares me.
