Cooked my wife and kids fried wild turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy for Mother's Day. Everyone chowed down. They love when I cook. I guess I never mentioned that I used to be a chef and have cooked in many restaurants when I was younger. When we don't open a box or a can or eat out, it's me doing the cooking. Since I hunt and fish a lot, we eat a lot of wild game. Fish and home made hush puppies are one of my specialties. By the way, I have my own hunting Facebook page and website too. I don't know if I'm allowed to post it here.

I gave ACV to all my chickens and the hens started laying better soon after. It's so good for them.

Yes I agree. I think I may have found another reason for all the mites. I have a wooden floor. I put very cheap plywood wood down so they wont cratch all the pine shavings out in one day. But I havent changed it in awhile. A hen layed an egg on the floor and there was mites all over the egg when I got it. The eggs in the hen boxes r good. I bet those mites are under that wet nasty plywood. Going to have to change it out and spray sevn on the wood floor. I just cant take all these mites on ME!!! I image how they feel!

Don't know what's going on with my temps but I've had spikes and lows. May of killed 80 something Eggs. Had a 120 spike. That was a stupid mistake. I left the temperature probe that shuts the thermostat off in the wrong place. It wasn't there long, but 120???? I'll let them go a few days and check it out.

Another bator had a 108 and I don't know when. It shows the spike but its normal now.

Then one bator was at 95 when I looked at it.

Hopefully everything is back on track. Luckily I only had 12.50 in all those eggs.

You can give us a link to your FB page and you can put a link in your signature as well, as long as it's a personal page, not a business one. I.e. there must not be anything for sale on there, at all.

Hmm, that could well be it. Well, lesson learned! Mites can kill chickens if they have a really bad infestation.

I know. That's why I have spent ALL day trying to get read of them. Will have to go tomorrow to get a new 4x8 piece of plywood and spray the heck out of the floor.

Well I eggtopsied and missed one that was still alive and killed a chick. I hate doing that. Most were developed but didn't finish. This one still had the yolk sack. May or may not of made it.

I have two that I opened a little to see if they can get out on their own. I have 14 new chicks that are in the brooder and we will see about the last two.

Im not getting very good hatches from 41 eggs at a time. About 35% on bought eggs from a local.( Ive been teaching her how to store the eggs until I can get them.)She had been washing them, storing them upside down, etc. So I hope that percentage goes up.

Im about 15% on bought eggs and about 80% on my eggs.
