Hey everyone :) We are trying to get our levels good to go in our home-made still air incubator...humidity is 56 and the temp is 100 stable for 2hrs. Should we wait or are we good to go? Hubby says he thinks its a matter of control because when we open it to turn eggs everything changes a few degrees...This is our first attempt to incubate

Thanks Kelly

Kelly, I do the "dry method" I only add water IF the humidty drops below 30% and you def want to keep it under 50%
lockdown I bump it up but TRY to keep it under 65%

all those notes are in the article... see the link in my signature.....

Duck eggs and serama are different I am finding!

Have a read through this when u get time https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...excellent-info-here-everyone-should-read-this

I would open and close a few times to make sure your levels go back to where they were. Also after you add eggs it might take a bit to get back to normal. I like the dry hatch method as well. Humidity about 45% then up to 65% on day 18.

sure I new it was near the front of the thread, I guess I should resave my link at that point!

I need advice!! Ugg I am so tired today

my little eggs kept me up all night. I forgot what it was like to be a mama..lol OK so I fell asleep and temps were stable then in the middle of the night until morning they got as high as 102! Is this ok? I kept making holes in the styrofoam (which seemed to do nothing) so I kept opening the lid and then temps would go down to 100. I have a digi thermometer and one I lay on the eggs bought at Agway. Both are reading the same. I can not imagine doing this for 20 more days ...I feel I should have just bought an expensive incubator.
