I like helping. I hope your chicks will be o.k.
One has died, and the other seems weaker now.

Any idea how long the Mallard's been sitting? Maybe you could put those eggs in an incubator and give her some duck eggs to hatch? Moving a broody is tricky, I warn you, but if you need to give it a try. Maybe moving her in the evening when she's sleepy will help.

The mallard just started sitting this morning. I have the safe locations picked out an set up, I just need to get the new eggs and the birds settled in... And I don't have another incubator working at the moment. I guess I could try this evening or early tomorrow morning? I could move them into the safer place and keep them in there overnight and see how they do?

aww i hope the other one makes it for you

I just checked, and it is a bit stronger. It even peeped a couple of times, but I don`t hold out much hope.

On a more positive note, I bought an incubator, similar to an LG, this week. My son put a fan in it. The temps are holding lovely and steady. It looks like the six silkie eggs are fertile. I can`t see through the maran eggs, and it is only day 3 anyway.

Went to check on Broody Hen on day 24. Couple were still wet. Only one egg didn't hatch. How can two hens sitting in nests side by side be so different in the hatch with eggs from the same rooster and hens?
