Funny story........................I think

Yesterday, I had a half grown chick drown. It got in one of the goose swimming pools. I had one get in before but it stood until I got it out. This one didnt. Anyway, I put it on top of the cage that I put the dead duck in to try to catch whatever ate the ducks head. This morning, the cage hadnt been tripped but in the place of the chicken was a mouse. I guess my cat traded me. LOL Must of preferred chicken.

Sally on the left and Gertrude on the right lookingg for their evening treat.

Lilly, an EE and Grant Jr. (my son named him after himself) I am not sure if he is a pure Ameraucana and if so, what type. They are from my first ever hatch.

Week olds sleeping on top of me in a towel. :)

Potatoes we just harvested from the tubs I'm growing them in.
awesome!

We're in the city praying to buy some land after hubby retires from the Navy. To us 5 acres would be heaven

Slack water Farms sent me 16 makeup eggs. I just received them today. Jeez. They were shipped last Tuesday. Anyway. Double boxes. Individually wrapped and most looked not to scrambled with intact air cells. I'm going to sit them tomorrow when I get home from work.

Hi everyone! I had a very poor hatch of shipped eggs. Despite Wisher1000's wonderful packaging, they came a long way and were beat up. Out of 14 eggs 1 chick hatched. 3 were early deaths, 4 were late deaths, and 7 were scrambled. The chick that hatched is an adorable Silver Campine. She is very healthy and will run around the brooder, eat, and drink. I am however looking for 1 or 2 other chicks so that she doesn't have to be alone.

Here is the Silver Campine chick. I still need a name for her.

She likes to cuddle with her new friend mirror.

So after two really bad hatches on shipped eggs I will definitely get local eggs next time. Even with a great packaging job like Wisher1000's, shipping eggs is very hard on the eggs.
