So there was chirping coming from the bator after I thought everyone who was going to hatch today did. Humidity was back down to 47%. Externally pipped egg that I knew was close but thought I had another day or so. I should have candled this afternoon after I took the last chick out. Staggered hatching really stinks but the baskets containing the mess is working well.

My eggs are due to hatch tomorrow. Shouldn't the eggs be rocking slightly? I am so nervous that these eggs are fully developed and then die on my before they hatch

Quote: It's something they give them. She named it. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the name. It runs in a cycle. They could be fine together for months. She's been through what I'm going through. She hatched turkeys with chickens.
blackhead?

Sometimes you will see them rock but don't worry if you don't.

I am very close to throwing in the towel and not going for NPIP and keeping my CCL, serama and brahma and selling off the other breeds. I am having way too much stress, with all this rain this month it stinks so bad, the runs are terrible mess and I used to have fun and enjoy this, now its a major pain in the butt and I slipped and fell and got chicken **** all over me including in my hair when I fell! My dogs don't require the work my chickens do, DH wants to know why I didn't just open a kennel. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good question and I guess I should have if I could afford to build one!

Took the chick in. Talked to the vet. She started going through everything. She asked. Do u have turkeys with them. I said yes. She said that's it. She just went through it herself and just finished a class two weeks ago on it. She lost a bunch of chicks too and didn't know why. She called it something. I'm adding a capful of bleach to everything and spraying everything down With bleach and selling the turkey poults.

what do the turkeys do to the chicks

No. That's when chickens make turkeys sick. Not the other way around.
