Its not the testing part that has me worried, she said she will work with me with the property stuff. Its the future and weighing the probability of disease in a flock and the probability of causing major money flow from our already empty pockets if it would ever happen. I refuse to look at only the positives and not negatives you know me! What I am doing now is searching Inet for some sorta lists or locations of US Poultry diseases, I cant find anything so if anyone else can I would love to see what goes on around our country. This information should be somewhere I would think. Or do you have a link chicks?

Hey Sally y don't you talk to Silkie in the PA unite thread she is NPIP certified, maybe she can help you out! Just an idea!!

Quote: Never thought of that
I received some shipped eggs and one was broken with yolk on half the other eggs. It's dried one and a little smelly. I know you aren't supposed to wash eggs but what do I do in this instance? Thanks!
if an egg stinks toss it, if you want you can attempt a wash and just keep track of that egg, I have washed a few and had them hatch.

ok so where doesn't it matter then??? where am I moving to?
Or just get a PO box in a different state, then you can ship to and from there. How far is it for you to cross the state line?

today is day 21. I have an egg that has been zipped since yesterday (it was the first egg even pipped) hasn't made on progress today. Should I be concerned and try to help it or just wait ? I hope the other 3 MFD's hatch and the 16 Buff laced polish. Guineas are on day 16, then I have silkie, cochins(frizzle and smooth), polish (frizzle and smooth) and showgirls in the other incubators.. I am so enjoying this hobby, of course my DH not so much...

I would investigate it, take the top off above the air cell and see whats going on, you have the assist article to lead you. just keep humidity up in the bator with a spritz to the sides or something just not on the eggs.

ok quick question... I have had a chick just hatch and it keeps flipping on its back. isn't that hard on their breathing? why is it doing that???
