I have another 20 day hatch starting. The first egg to hatch was a shipped egg. Woohoo. Then two of mine. Now waiting on the rest

I moved all chicks out of the pen that had disease and everything is in the flock. Some are pretty small but I don't think they were going to get sick again. Some are sick but are eating, drinking and running around. I really believe the sun helps. I've been using Corid on the whole flock so I think they will be ok. I'm going to continue until the weekend.

I also bought another chicken house and a run today as well as a large chick pen that I can move around. I'm picking it all up Wednesday and will split the BLRW's from the rest of the flock and will put the little chicks into the chick pen.

I'm going to bleach. Then ammonia the infected area and remove everything I can. Then leave it for a while so any infection will die out.

I candled the eggs today (day 11) and I removed the obvious dead ones. Out of 20 I have 3 definite survivors and 1 that I'm pretty sure is dead but my son swears it moved & is developing faster than the others. I promised him I would post the pic and ask for your opinions.

I hate to toss it if it is alive but I'm worried that its going to get messy soon lol. I can't wait until my ducks start laying so I can hatch their eggs & not shipped eggs

I am done hatching for a while. I just wish the EE would understand that. She keeps trying. This is the third time in a month. Poor Cadbury.

awwwww this is the scissor? she looks good for having that beak is it getting worse? I don't know much about it, I culled the one that hatched last fall like that : ( and she is broody again?

Her beak actually looks better now. I was going to cull her a few weeks ago. Then I realized she was laying. I thought the Ameraucana was just a good layer! I hate breaking her from brooding, but she couldn't take the stress of not eating. Eating takes a total of maybe an hour daily. Besides, I must get rid of chicks!

I had to let Chad know today that all but one of the bobwhites I have in the bator for him were nasty and chucked into the woods. Chad do not buy them shipped, go to auction! But he tells me he just won an auction for 50 of them shipped. sighhhhhhhhhhhhh the little things just don't like being shook up. His chukar look good as much as I can tell but the shells even though tan are very thick and I cant see too good in them. The coturnix who knows I cant see in them at all.

I set a dozen serama again, they cant lay enough for everyone who wants the chicks! No brahma set though. I want to separate the blue hens and add a blue roo so I can hatch just blues and see how that goes. The splash we hatched is cool cant wait to see it grown! think its a hen.

You took those babies back and a babies mockingbird ended up in their garage that night after you guys left

I wish I could have stayed. The dog was home alone for 14 hours though, and I had a house to pack up, and get moved! Next time, will you share your oj? The one who squealed may not have told you that with enough orange juice, I don't care who does what anymore. Or maybe she did! Ha ha!
