Lol Okay, this is a bit off topic, but I have excellent news- MY PEEPER IS PEEPING! I got up this morning and I could hear it over the loud fish tanks in my room! A wonderful way to wake up. The peeping stopped, so I'm assuming Hope is asleep.... He hasn't made any progress with breaking the shell though. Just sort of pushed a piece of the shell up... Should I help him? I know the answer is prolly no, but I've been waiting so long just to hear his adorable peeping!

Ok guys & gals! Ever since Candleing yesterday, I'm having a heck if a time getting my store bought hovabator to 99.5 degrees. its staying at 98.8 degrees and I've adjusted it twice one this morning and once this afternoon. I have three thermometers in there. One of which is from my work (donated to the egg fund) and I know its spot on. Even with both adjustments, no change in temp. I resorted to wrapping a towel around it last night which brought it up to 99.1. I'd rather have it off at 100 than 98, should I try and adjust again?

On another note... I went ahead and installed a fan in my hone made hatcher and the temp is holding steady nicely! Woo hoo!

I HAVE PICTURES!!!

I couldn't help myself from helping him. I think he might be stuck. As you can see in the pictures, his beak is HUGE compared to the shell!

The picture quality isn't great.
AND HERE IS HOPE'S BEAK! I could see it moving as it peeped. Does it look really big compared to the shell?

LOL When I picked it up to break off that breathing hole, Hope wiggled and peeped at me! I could feel it and it was so cool. I hope that Hope is getting her/his energy up so he/she can hatch! When I put my finger on the shell to pick another piece off, Hope nipped at my thumb. I put it back 'cause I guess he/she didn't want any help from me. XD It's so cute sounding when it peeps!!! More pictures hopefully soon!!!!

AWWWW!!! just keep watch now that you opened that bator ok? if you help anymore if you get ANY BLOOD, a spec STOP and replace into the bator!!!! it takes hours and hours to help a chick out ok??? NO BLOOD! you have established breathing so she is fine just like that, no rush!!!! SO happy for you!! Do your parents know your not going to school? LOL not that I never knocked off he he he

What is humidity?

Umm, I am not sure of my temperature (I never really was, I just placed eggs all over the place and hoped to find the "Goldilocks Zone" for chicken eggs. For humidity, it is about 45-50% :3 i am so excited, when I went in there to check on him, I saw he was nipping at the shell, so he must be interested in escaping. The whole shell was wiggling!
