  1. Sign: Not pipped. Full-term embryo, large yolk sac; yolk sac may not be fully enclosed by abdominal wall, may have residual albumen. Causes:
  2. Inadequate turning, resulting in decreased embryonic membrane development and nutrient absorption.
  3. Humidity too high during incubation or after transfer.
  4. Incubator temperature too low.
  5. Hatcher temperature too high.
  6. Eggs chilled (e.g., at transfer).
  7. Nutritional deficiencies.
  8. Heredity.
  9. Embryological development accident.
  10. Breeder diseases.
  11. Inadequate ventilation.
  12. Prolonged egg storage.
  13. Sign: Pipped. Full-term embryo, dead in shell. Causes:
  14. Low humidity or temperature for a prolonged period.
  15. Low humidity during hatching.
  16. High temperature during hatching.
  17. Nutritional deficiencies.
  18. Breeder diseases.
  19. Poor ventilation.
  20. Inadequate turning during first 12 days.
  21. Injury during transfer.
  22. Prolonged egg storage.

Symptoms Probable Cause Corrective Measures

Pipped eggs, but died without hatching Insufficient moisture Increase humidity (wet-bulb temperature) during the hatching period.
Improper ventilation Increase ventilation rate in incubator and/or room, but avoid drafts.
Improper setting of eggs causing malpositioned embryos Set eggs with small end down. Turn eggs properly but avoid turning within 3 days of hatching.

Good Evening expat, any suggestions as to what to use to lower PH in my dogs urine?

he keeps having issues and for some reason gets those sturite crystals and the vet charges me a fortune for stuff. I shouldn't have said anything about dogs health the other day! now he has this back! I have been giving him cranberry with vit C. I will sit and research later,

Thank you!I think the stuff within my control, i did and if it was something out of my control.. guess there isn't anything i cam do but spoil the babies i have! ;) I'll study this some more and try to make sure for positive i do it all right this time! :)

oh and yeah i did my own first..a couple of batches to make sure.. had only in out of 26 not make it and i think that one was my fault as i attempted an assist and think it wasn't quite ready...:(

Hi motherhen! Glad you came over, you know everything I can tell you (almost) I wrote in the hatching 101 article and assist articles in my signatures. good hygros are key, and your best in the most stable climate as you stated. Someone told me that when they need a boost in humidity they bought those tiny rubermaid cups and actually set them in empty egg holes and added pcs of sponges to keep humidity up, that way they can add or take away easily because without a fan its hard to control it well. not sure if you have room ASIDE the turners for thin sponges? I have fans in all of my stuff so I have never had issues with controlling it. Also I use a shamwow folded and it holds water long and don't drip! Again, most info I can give you is in that article, ventilation, temps calibrating thermo/hygros, using humidity as a tool not a set number, and on and on...... What breeds are in?
I have been using "Feminine Pads" to up humidity. Just pour water on them until they absorb it, no cups for chicks to fall into. Ron from the NorCal thread suggested it. They hold a lot of water, and when you are done hatching you can throw them away. Works for me.

ammonium chloride 200mg to 400mg per day

7.99 for A **** load

its 99.9% so you need a miligram scale or measure 1 gram and add to water - give 1/5th or 2/5ths of the diluted amount over the dogs food
