Ok. so I had another "ok" hatch...3 perfect little silkies...3 dead in the shell(with most of the yolk absorbed) and the other four must've quit sometime before that..still a had lot of yolk. I haven't noticed any huge spikes in temp OR humidity (or dropst) What am I doing wrong???? I've tried researching the "what went wrong" things and can't seem to figure it out without the spikes/lows? Maybe I'm just having bad luck with silkies and Polish....the 3 I DID get..are SOOO stinkin cute! :) So I'm pretty happy...just wishing I knew what to fix so it doesn't keep happening! I've got a few more in the bator and then I believe I'm done hatching for the year! It's been fun and I can't wait for next spring to start again! lol is that bad?? :)

Sallyi dont double box my eggs and so far peeps are getting 100% hatch rate. I bubble each egg and place in an egg carton put a layer of bubble wrap over them shut the lid and bubble wrap carton. Then i use those styrofoam squares to line sides and bottom. Put cringled newspaper place egg carton in and surround with more newspaper. Very light weight.

you sure you don't have cold and hot spots? your rotating eggs in the bator to different areas? they were all shipped? did they not internally pip? if they did internally pip where they shrink wrapped or was the shell very hard?

what is your average weigh for doz and cost?

Speaking of shipping...I finally remembered to take a picture of the shipping method that I am most impressed with. Not one messed up air-cell in the lot of them. They were big end up and stabilized and cushioned really well, and they could still breath.

I wonder where everyone is getting this Styrofoam, I tried to find it and its way expensive to make any money selling eggs using it.

Ok. A little help here. I just got this in. I want to do a two day treatment on all my birds. How much per gallon? I know I saw it somewhere before but I cant find it now.

I have no idea. I will ask her though. The eggs were $40 a dozen and $16 shipping so I am guessing she still made money.
