its best to do the vitamin k as a shot, but I realize most of us don't keep vitamin k as shots. the greens are more to buy you some time, depending on what shape the birds are in. one thing you do have working for you, that poison is dosed to kill a 2lb rat. a turkey is probably more sensitive to it, but with a little luck the turkey already was high in vitamin k, over eating grass and other greens.
Cool! and local is the way to go! Have you found the hatching 101 article? its always in my siggy!
Well I left at 3 and went to town. I get home 2 hours later and one of my Canada geese is dead. I have no idea what happened. It was perfectly healthy when I left. Sad day to lose a bird we hatched from eggs 3 years ago and had a great personality. She followed me around.
Help everyone, I have a wiley rat living under my brooder house that is attached to my chicken coop, and it is digging holes under the coop part, it is very smart. I put rat bait in its holes leading under the brooder house, thinking it would take it in and eat it, NO I got up late this morning (first day of in a month) and found the bait in the chicken coop, like he was saying "I will show you b****, here chicky chicky have a treat." I was mortified, I'm not sure if anyone other then the rat and its kids ate it or if my turkey poult got it, since it was sluggish this morning and looking sickly. It has evaded traps, now what can I do?
Yup but the cheapest I found was $75. and I am too cheap to pay it for something that sits there and has no actual use!that is a good looking coop. my guess is the Pennsylvania amish would be one of the best places to look for the wheels.
Welcome to the thread Brian! Glad you came!I stumbled in to introduce myself to sally sunshine. I wanted to thank you for the articles, they have been wonderful in teaching others how to hatch.
I have watched your posts for a while now, a lot of good advice.
