you did the right thing but once you start intervening it becomes a catch 22. keep an eye on progressI need help! When looking at one cream legbar egg that pipped, I noticed another was actually further along but pipped at the small end that was half way down in the egg carton I incubate and hatch in. I took it out quickly and peeled back the membrane around it's face (no blood and it seems healthy) then put it back in the bator laying down on it's side with face upward. I then put some hot water in the bator to get the humidity back up. I said I wasn't going to open the bator until the hatch was done but darn it, that chick could have drowned or just not been able to zip out. Did I do right by laying it down on it's side? And do you think the other eggs will be okay including the other externally pipped egg? What else should I do?
i was outbid at 100 bucks. i have to limit my whimsical bidsthose are the freakiest looking chicken. Good luck!
thanks!! look forward to hearing if it makes any difference!I just sent bernie a message to ad 5 lbs of rice to the bator and check humidity after 8 hrs, I will report back
