What did you hat b that had a crossbeak if you don't mind me asking
. I'm not quite sure what you are asking. ;). If it is what breed, it was an Ameraucana. if it's how I could tell, when I eggtopsied , the beak was obviously crossed and in such a way that the top egg tooth part was crossed in to the egg not to the outside. I hope I answered yoir question.

I agree with oz, your humidity is running high, is that because of being in FL or are you adding water? I don't add water unless I go under 22% and I average %28-35% naturally in my lower level. Sounds like wet big chicks to me, next time weigh and lower humidity, my temp runs around 100 constant and then I lower to 99 when I see first pips. I do keep humidity around 70 at lockdown and then it goes high when they start to hatch into the 80's and I don't have issues at all. I have only had issues when I ran humidity 45-55 during the first 18!

That was a dry hatch, no water added. But we have had crazy rain and humidity that is usual for this time of year. I will measure by weight your eggs and will work to keep humidity low. I'll keep temp at 100 until pips and see what happens. My hatch currently going that hatches on the 27th, how can I salvage it? Get humidity down now and lower temp at first pip?

dumb question alert! can i use scented bleach on an incubator if I'm going to let it dry thoroughly outside so the scent should go away?

I would try to get your humidity down. If you can get it dried up a bit then you still have time for the eggs to loose enough moisture. Are you using a still air or forced?

I have never used scented bleach. I don't see how it would make much difference whether you use plain bleach or scented. Just rinse the heck out of it.

kaybee you have still air keep it at 102 at top of eggs, what have you been running it at? sorry I am on my phone!
