kaybee you have still air keep it at 102 at top of eggs, what have you been running it at? sorry I am on my phone!
This last hatch was run at 100 at the top of the eggs. I'll up the temp on these and get the humidity down. But then lower to what when they internally pip?

We have had days and days of rain and humidity here in Texas (although we are still way behind in rain for the year). I am doing my first hatch and am mostly following the dry hatch method. In the notes on that is says ambient room humidity of 50 - 75% with 50 being preferable. So I have been seeing room humidity most commonly hovering around 65 - 70%. I haven't been testing the bator humidity but decided to test it this morning after reading the latest posts here. The room humidity was 50 with the A/C running and the bator is saying 37%. How am I doing here?

I should add that I am using a Farm Innovator Pro 4200 with circulated air and auto turner. My temp has been between 99 and 100 99% of the time with a couple fluctuations to 98 and 101 briefly. I am doing a staggered hatch. I have an LG still air I will be using for a separate hatcher. What temp/humidity should I set the LG to for hatching? Thanks for the help!!

I have never used scented bleach. I don't see how it would make much difference whether you use plain bleach or scented. Just rinse the heck out of it.

well i used it....hate to break it to the manufacturer.... it doesn't smell like "fresh blossoms" it smells like bleach! lol on another note i figured out if i just spray it around my house a little...it'll seem like i cleaned!! :D my new cleaning method Right There!! ;)

What did you hat b that had a crossbeak if you don't mind me asking
. I'm not quite sure what you are asking. ;). If it is what breed, it was an Ameraucana. if it's how I could tell, when I eggtopsied , the beak was obviously crossed and in such a way that the top egg tooth part was crossed in to the egg not to the outside. I hope I answered yoir question.

I asked because I had a wheaten AM with one also and let the breeder know, was interested in knowing if it was from the same person, if you know please pm me she probably needs to know before selling more eggs so she can do some culling. I won't say on a thread it won't be nice

Up your temp to 102 at the top of the eggs and that will help dry up some of the humidity. I dont lower temp for hatch and would not recommend doing that with your bator. The fancy bators with digital thermostats are easier to control. With the stryo bator and the twisty knob for changing temp can be a little tricky just to get it down 1 degree. It is not worth messing with in my opinion.

I always bleach my sinks before people come over. At least my house will smell clean. Now if I could just get it to look as clean as it smells.

For Christmas or my bday in January I think I might treat myself to a better bator!!! ;)
