My new ladies are laying well (finally) and I, ever the optimist, checked their first eggs just in case. Not a bullseye in sight *sigh*. And no response to my "duck eggs wanted" ad either :-(

Sumi I ordered more White Faced Spanish eggs!
I sold all but one hen of my spitz so I can keep the WFS without having to build another pen.
I like the spitz but we love the WFS ROO is gorgeous!
Awesome!

I'm going to apply for an import permit soon...

I have a broody hen. Sigh. She sat on 12 or so eggs. Last night she had moved one spot and was sitting on 5 eggs. Now she is sitting on all of them. That's a whole bunch of eggs for one hen. I'll candle in a week and remove any that aren't fertile.

That is why you should mark the broody's eggs, so you know when she steals any to add to her clutch. Because they do! Mine drove me crackers, moving eggs around boxes and stealing eggs and confusing the heck out of me. Good luck with the hatch!

Dumb question.... HOW do they move an egg from one nest to another. I can't picture it in my mind :/
