oz what do you do with all these chickens. do you sell, eat or just feed and watch them grow.

ive had that popeye thing happen before. it didnt look as severe as in your picture. i washed it out with saline and everything was fine in a couple of days. im not sure if the saline cured it, or if it healed on its own. just thought id throw this out there.
I think it can see out of it. It seems to be getting a little better. It can close its eye. I doubt it ever looks normal. I had another Peachick hatch today and it started bleeding. I rubbed ointment on its navel and its seems to be doing fine now.

ive only tried 6 eggs, but i never had any luck hatching peafowl. so congrats!
Thanks. I lost a peachick that flew out of the bator. I didn't know what happened to it. I found it today. It was rotting in my garage. ill keep a closer eye on these. Ive got them with my 15 or so guineas that I just hatched. By the way, guineas sure are cute when they are little

I don't see any blood, so I guess that's a good thing. I've noticed that sometimes between lockdown and the hatch the air cell will dip down quiet a bit so the pip will be lower than I thought it would be. Do you hear it peeping?

Eek! I just saw another little piece of the shell wiggle up and down as it tries to push it off

Walk away from the hatch. I get impatient and try to help and most of the time I am successful but every once in a while, I hatch one to early and it doesn't make it. Im getting much better at saving them. Neosporin ointment on the navel and a damp paper towel do wonders.
