i have had some eggs close from young hens, bred specifically for blue color; but as mentioned before when i took pictures they looked much lighter. im gonna guess there's some photoshopping going on somewhere.

I told Wyn about your chick and she said:

She's got a bloodline with Wade Jeane in it. Jeane crossed Wheaten Marans into this Black Coppers to improve egg color, so now & then a wheaten will pop back up.
lol was gonna say ya I seen an egg that blue in a robins nestI agree - dont you hate it when people on ebay flat out lie. Marans eggs that are dark as walnut and mis-spelled Ameraucanas as blue as a robin egg.

Exactly.no harm done here Oz.. i keep going, but i do complain along the way. anytime i can get sympathy from DW, and a good backrub - i take it!![]()
What day are these eggs on?Here is a pic of each of my little struggling chicks.
This one had pipped straight up through the center of the air cell which was massive and saddle shaped. There was no way it would have ever reached the shell to pip externally. So far so good with her, just waiting for her to absorb blood/yolk.
This is my poor little gasper with yolk and a foot on his head who pipped straight out the side. I don't think he's going to make it but I am still holding out some hope. He's gone very quiet now though with just the occasional gasp![]()
This one has a wing and foot at the tip of her beak. She seems strong though and I think she will make it once she absorbs everything.
This one is a pretzel... She wiggles her toes at me and chirps a lot so I think she will make it.

Fingers crossedI have been advised its just yolk sack! So they are sitting pretty in the egg carton chirping away. fingers crossed![]()
