Ok ladies I have an egg that was pipped when i got up at 6am this morning. the hole has gotten a little bigger an I can see the beak but it is now 9:00pm...should I be concerned or could she just be slow?
BTW we have one hatching as I type this! There is a little red on the white part should I be concerned?
OHMYGOSH GUESS WHAT?!?!?! I candled the eggs while I was waiting for the pictures to load, and I HAVE AN INTERNAL PIPPER!! That's right!! Hope is going to have a buddy!!! WOOT!
I am just BEGGING that it doesn't take as long as Hope!! It's on day 25, so it better be ready! See the egg that Hope is practically leaning on in the first picture? That's the one that I think is alive. I think two other ones are alive, too! I didn't see the internal pipping, but they didn't smell and they were quite dark inside, so I have hope again!
When I looked it was doing the whole scratching thing, so I think it might externally pip any second now! Imma go spray them with water! I'm so excited! I am SOOOO glad I candled them first. (One of the eggs was quite smelly, and when I opened it up, It looked like it was dead from day 16 I suppose.... it smelled like a nasty fart.

My first ever chick took 24 hours waiting in the shell after pipping. It was quite stressful for me... At least later on I will have a bit more patience... Or not... lol
Very exciting! Congrats! What kind of incubator are you using? Just curious... I have a hovabator and a homemade one that I'm going to try hatching in. This is my first hatch as well.
