ummmm Oz hows the weather with Bernie now? Here from Piglett about wife n fam?

Well, Brian has helped convince me to follow through with my NPIP, Chad as well! Chad and I will be doing the blood draws hopefully before the inspector comes out, Chad says its a quicker process instead of waiting for inspector and then doing all that. I still have to figure out what level I need to test for since I want to ship live chicks and birds, so more reading next week after a much needed rest after my last pup leaves tomorrow. Any help understanding that will be appreciated! Glad i could help, just tell the inspector that you want to be able to ship chicks when you set up your appointment. he will know exactly what PA requires.

Focus is on four breeds, I have sold ALOT off, so now my Flock will consists of......

Blue/Gold Partridge Brahma
We have 16 plus 4/6? growing out. Splash partridge are not pictured, love love them, must get pics when chaos subsides, image is from June I think.
I am not sure on what roo/s stay/go, I have two 14 month old blues, two splash roos, one 3 month old reg partridge roo, I am not sure what to call them, I hear gold or black one or the other lol. decisions decisions, but I can tell you this.... if that one blue brahma roo stands up to me again I will eat him for thanksgiving! They are much to big to mess around with thats for sure.

type looks excellent, try not to breed any roosters or hens with short tails, i find the offspring (in white and buff brahmas) doesn't feather right. I'm going to say they are blue golden, black and splash will still come from the blue colors. i am particularly fond of the hen on the far right, standing on the rock. i am not a proper judge as you know, but her coloration is beautiful. ok, i admit it i have chicken envy.

White faced Spanish,
I have one amazing roo and 6 hens
again he was young in the image, as was the girls, some of their combs are flopped and huge

again im not an expert, but i would sort the hens with floppy combs. if your working for show, dont breed any hens that have any signs of red in their face. if im reading right the red above the rooster's eyes is up to a 2 1/2 point deduction. ill let you figure this out, its not a breed i have worked with - just read about. http://books.google.com/books?id=Iq...how defects white faced black spanish&f=false

Crested Cream Legbar (white gene roo, and a reg CCL roo,
I need to research genetics on that white gene at some point very soon)

i cant find any standards on crested legbars. what i have found out from asking around is keep a few lightly crested females, males who aren't crested typically have straighter combs. of course with leghorns, a large "floppy" comb is not considered a defect. im anxious to see how these are judged. he is beautiful!

Harmony's cutie patootie serama,
one straight roo, 3 straight hens and the rest frizzled, I have mostly frizzled hens growing out and two frizz roos. But anchor hatched out 8 and I am not sure what I will do with them, look like straights I dont have the heart to sell them and take them yet lol. first broody that hatched any and cared for them!

i love this chick too, (i better watch saying this, my wife might get jealous). im anxious to work on some frizzled chickens, i would really like to frizzle my lemon cuckoo cochin bantams. an additional note, its always wonderful to have a pet double as a feather duster!

Input on my plans is GREATLY appreciated and READILY accepted! Opinions as well!

i dont show either, i just like to work towards the show quality birds. i am "inheriting" a small flock of CCL's i still dont know if i should breed for red or breed the red out - no one seems to know anything about what the judges would want.
