Oh my WORD Sally Sunshine. You must hold the record for a hatching thread. Marine guy, Sumi - WOW!!! You guys all still on this thread and still hatching like crazy!!!! LOL. I haven't been on here regularly for a couple months - sooooooooooo good to see you guys still going strong!!! I feel like I just flopped in a very comfy armchair with a cup of tea to catch up withhold hatching buddies! Yay for you guys

Hope is having a lazy day- she wouldn't get out of the bed/roost for me to get a good picture!

You can see her feathers here. She is a week old today!

I arranged her brooder around a bit. I have a roost now, and another container of water 'cause she doesn't seem to drink as much as she eats. Boy, does she ever eat!

I have a brinsea 20 Eco that is ordered and shipped, but its stuck in USPS land, so I built an incubator (thanks to the wonderful information on BYC) and I set my Orpington and duck eggs two days ago in the homemade bator, I plan on switching them to the brinsea once it gets here and stabilizes and then use my homemade one as a hatcher. I am out of town at BFs family Christmas (my mom is turning the eggs, bless her) and according to USPS my showgirl eggs and brinsea were delivered yesterday!! Can't wait to get home today and set up my incubator!!

I forgot to ask, did you get an ETA for the brinsea? You have the homemade bator with a perfect temp and humidity till you can add them to the new one? blue swedish?? would love to see what those look like, love blues!! I will cross my fingers that it shows up soon!!! oh what kinda ducks? I have 5 ancona ducks eggs in the bator

we are trying to keep the thread going, have quite a few come and join in the fun, plus we have a few sweet youngins that we adore and would love to keep it alive just to help with incubation and hatching!!! its a great place to check in and we all KNOW SOMEONE is there for support when we all need it!!

No my dear, I'm not hatching (yet) I'm just here for moral support and entertainment

Am going to join the fun next year sometime. Still planning... I need to get a 'bator and some hatching eggs. Waiting for things to return to normal after Xmas and NY.

awwwwe she is so cute!! she is a happy peepers!! does she sit on that roost? just make sure she cant eat the plastic kiddo... for some reason chickens are attracked to plastic and styrofoam like its a candybar!!!
