Whoops I mean 20 bantam cochin eggs. The 5 detached air cells rolled all the way from end to end on the day I set them, Fri 3/7. The turner is very slow and gentle.

and you have life in the rollers? how many did you have to trash?

Good news, I think. Today is day 5 and I quickly candled the eggs. All are growing with no problems except the 5 with detached air cells. I pulled a blood ring, couldn't see a fetus and pulled a seeping one. I left 3 questionables that are probably no good. I think one is another blood ring and two clears. I didn't expect those to hatch anyway. I plugged in the auto turner. I just received an Ambient Weather WS-05 hygrometer/thermometer and I'm calibrating it. This one is adjustable. The other 2 I have to add 13 to the readings to get the correct humidity %. Why can't they make something work right when we pay good money for it. Is that too much to ask?

Everything seems like it's going well. Don't think I will candle again until day 10 unless I take a peek at the 3 questionables. Thanks for the help.

The auto turner works great for shipped eggs. Sounds like you have a good start. check your questionable ones in a few days. I always sniff check the bator. If you have a stinker you will know it.

Some people don't start turning shipped eggs until day 7 to give the air cells time to "heal" if you will.
Are they that fragile that they need to be placed in egg cartons to tip all at once or is the auto turner fine?

They have been doing great. I have an automatic turner I think I would do egg cartons if I didn't because I think them sitting up right has helped their development. Good luck!!

Just saw you have an automatic turner. Mine turns the eggs gently and evenly so I really like it.

Those guineas are so loud I don't know what good they are except as a watch dog. I've heard they're not good to eat. Have you ever tasted one?
