The yolk was still in tact.  I located the ovum on the yolk and there wasn't a bull's eye. I know how to tell a fertile egg from an infertile egg.

There was a dark red ring that had formed around the shell.  It grew each day of incubation.

Did you candle the eggs before you began incubating them? Perhaps your yolks could have burst because of bacteria.

As far as the cochins go, I trimmed their butt fluff last month.  It didn't work, so I began artificially inseminating. The eggs still aren't fertile.

He mounts her all the time, but nothing I've tried has worked. At this point I'm assuming that he's infertile.

Sorry to hear about your roo.

*I didn't mean to insult you, I did not know if you opened the egg or were going based off of not seeing development when you candled.

Ok I'm on day 21 and nothing. I'm thinking I shouldn't have brought the temp down. :-( I carefully examined all the eggs through the window and decided I would add a warm wet cloth and put a little container for the sponge because my humidity was only at 50%

I know this is bad but I grabbed one of the local eggs out to see if anything was going on (only did this because nobody has pipped or is wiggling or anything) the egg is completely full of chick and looks like it's alive. I'm just worried because I keep reading that if chicks don't hatch on day 21 they will be weak or deformed.

its ok, can you see its beak moving and he is in position? its only day 21 today? dont fret! sounds like they will externally pip any moment!!

keep er closed and tap gently to them, you may even see a pip right before your eyes! I seen it only twice but it can happen, chirp to them too, you may hear them chirp back!! it will stimulate them to hatch!!

just watch no one is around the corner with cell phone video taping you! ha ha ha

Completely full is good. That means it will be pipping pretty quick. They will probably start pipping today/tonight and finish up tomorrow. Which is not bad. I have stryo bators and never touch the temp once it is where I want it. They jump up and down way too easy. Fingers crossed for your hatch.

Thank you. I can relax a bit more now. I didn't see a beak or anything just very dark all over except the air cell it was like slowly moving kind of looked like breathing I held it at the same position it was laying and layed it back down in the same way it has been just in case it was orienting itself.

I hope my post didn't come across wrong. I knew that you were only trying to help.

Don't worry. My last day happened 1.5 days late because of low temperatures and all of the chicks were perfectly fine.

Sounds like you'll have pips soon.
