We are totally overrun with chicks at this point, I think I have 50 in the brooder and a ton still pipped, I did grab 6 eggs and they are dead, two are alive and remain unpipped, not hoping I have another two that never hatch like the last two times, very very weird!!

Wow!!! You must have a big brooder! I can't imagine having so many chicks!

I have 3 more that have pipped this morning!

Quote: Right now they are all in one clear big plastic tote!

I am trying to get ahold of the buyers, NEED GONE ASAP ha ha ha!!

We already have three other brooders with chicks that are leaving tomorrow!

I need to move them out! I have deposits on almost all of them but the FAVerolles but those are pending.

I took a reading light apart so I could check air cells without opening the bator. The air cells have come a long ways in the last 4 days. The marks were the air cells last night when I took the eggs out of the turner. When we see an internal pip we'll bump the humidity a bit. Right now I'm trying to give the eggs a little more time to lose a little more weight.

What a great idea to view the eggs..... Does the light work for candling also .... Is there a specific light I should look for or is there a "lumen" advertised on the light .....

I bought the only light I coukd find at walmart, and it was a Rayvac, I think. Lumens = low ;)
I busted the casing around the top off, then had to undo two teeeeeeny screws that popped off the rest of the casing. The on/off switch had to be taped in place with electrical tape, so it's always on. I just pop the batteries out when I want it off.

I wish it were just a little longer!

Then no worries as long as thou turn45 degrees a min of three times a day. 9 times is better. Lol

People who have still air incubators and tilt their incubators do an excellent job of cooking their eggs
don't you find problems with humidity and temperature while opening to turn that many times? I suspect that's why only some of mine were malpositioned, I hand turned them for a period of time during incubation (til I could set up my other egg turner.)

My eggs are either on auto turners or in a mega incubator that six hundred eggs can be turned in twenty second s

Even hand turning thirty eggs takes two minutes. Although the air in the incubator will , drop the core temp of the eggs wont fluctuate more than s fraction of a degree.
