LOL

I knew I would get some bites

So I dropped another egg... I'm not sure I should touch them ever again... But this one went on one heck of a trip and now the air cell is trashed... How much of a chance does it have?

Sometimes its about preventing chaos. How would you like it if i built a 50 sow piggery 100ft from your house or new beach resort... just because its my land? The cost of the zoning permit validation.... free.

This is so far off topic - open a preppers thread to continue.

Lol, prepper, I guess that means something completely different now than when I was in high school.

So anyway, shipped eggs
...
How they doing, everyone?

OT: Oz, was it a happy accident that your helper helped build your business? Is it going to cause any problems, like with your permits and stuff, capacities and whatnot. Sorry I didn't open a prepper thread for you to ask you this.

no worries

the real issue was that he is new and I wanted to make sure he understood my processes. He has good chicken experience as he worked for 2 years on a 1000 bird game rooster farm some time back.It will be interesting to see how he goes. He has ideas to modify incubators and brooders so its great he is taking initiative. he seems to have great instinct on when to step back and when to open the bator.

the extra birds he is hatching will be absorbed. most I wanted but there are about 30 mutt chicken eggs i would prefer were eaten.

Having to raise the 120 birds to point of lay for the chicken mission is putting a lot of pressure on accomadations. 11 breeder coops, 2 20 bird holding coops, a scovie pen, pekin pen, a guinea pen, 15 quail cages and a 1000 sq foot grow out yard with a 12x15 teenager shelter is enough lol but I will probably need another temporary big grow out area.

This time next year I want no more than 100 chickens. Currently there are over 400. I have sales for 50 pending and I know once I market I can really sell.

I have a restaurant that will take 1000 texas A&M quail, 200 pheasant and 200 chukar per year. And they will dress them themselves. To achieve this i need to hatch all I can - including dominics cache

Turkeys will be very interesting next year - i may end up having to set up a turkey breeding program on my wifes ancestoral farm as I am running out of space and could easily sell 200 birds at christmas. I desperately need to hatch 20-30 poults this season. Its a shame they dont ship well.

People are seeking me out to buy classic farm yard breeds like barred rocks, orpingtons and rhode island reds, The future looks better all the time

I need the business license before I advertise

I told him no more scovies in the bator - the ducks can hatch their own., he curses the Pekins in the brooder every day because of the mess they make and now he has to raise muscovies before integrating them

his first full hatch is starting with quail this morning.
