they are too little for peas, they are chick size lol

the big ones dont care about food, just getting away from me

Cut them up. Or mealworms like Subhanalah says. And just toss the food closer and closer until they get the idea you aren't a big evil being. I had to do it with Luke and his gang after I moved them out because they got very upset at me after that.

two things I found out tonight.....

Hummingbirds have feathered legs
and baby cardinals are ugly as sin

I sure hope this one takes after his daddy SOON!

Hubs and I were talking, my compost pile.... Its basically chicken poop and pine shavings, I used some for the tomatoes and added to my flowers before they started popping up, he says the pile is too acidy for my plants. they seem to like it so I think the poo is enough to make it perfection lol.

Wonder if I could bag up my poopy compost and sell it in bags ha ha ha
Sally,

I have finally saved enough money,, and soon I am installing a compost system for my small horse farm. I am so flipping excited I can barely sleep.. I finally will make the 200/300 pounds of horse manure I am cleaning daily work for me and my farm. The turnover rate from manure to ready, organic compost is 60 days. It is an amazing system if anyone is interested in more, I can post a link. ANYwho.. the reason I bring it up is.. when I do install the system, it is highly recommended to switch from conventional pine shavings.. the ones we all use, to quality wood pellet horse bedding. Traditional pine shavings take a very long time to break down to usable compost. These wood pellets are combined with water, to produce the softest most wonderful bedding. There is no comparison, and the time needed for usable compost is drastically reduced.. and it is safe for poultry.

Quote: his beak looks like the cards beak, do they always curve like that? I guess I never looked that close! awesome shots, where at your house? cardinals are out my girls bedroom window! the male is always chatty squeaky! I found an egg on the ground and put it back in the nest, there were no others, but when I looked yesterday I found one chick! the egg was warm when I picked it up, I have no clue how it got out of the nest!
