Here she is! She's smaller than the others but mightier than them all. It's amazing what being a day behind can do. She's alive and pecking, and that's all that matters!

YOLK!!!!

Does anyone have any experience with Mandarin Ducklings? My dad says that this spring I can get a mandarin duckling so my mallard can have a buddy. I'm also gonna be building a big new coop to move all my birds into thatll look more like the "wild" so the mandarin and mallard will feel more at home. Does anyone know where to get a mandarin duckling? Are there any special things I need to do to raise it? I'm so excited!

So this is going to be our first hatch on Friday. We have 35 eggs in the Bator and 6 are due to hatch Friday. We work 9-5 everyday. So if the chicks hatch while we're at work are they going to be ok in the Bator till we get home? What are some good tips?

Greetings from the Philippines!

Internet is very unreliable but I get to read all the threads. My goodness there have been some trials and tribulations in the last 10 days since I posted here.

I have had my dramas as well. Its day 10 of my first asian incubation. I started a diary of it at https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...diary-of-a-crazy-chicken-man/10#post_10202303

Stop by and see what has happened. In short i bought over 73 eggs and about 65 look like they will go to lockdown so far. Humidity is 95% and the stays at 51 - 55% in the bators. The hovabators have been rock solid with temp stability.

Happy new year to all.

Hello! Yes, they'll be fine. They take hours to hatch from the first pip. 35, I'm jealous! Lol! After they hatch you want them to dry and that'll take another 24 hours to dry completely. When are the other eggs due to hatch?
