I put the eggs in lockdown last night. the ones that had odd shaped air cells, I placed upright. The majority of them were fine, so i laid them down to hatch. The EE eggs that were a little late getting here (thank you post office) I went ahead and put them in lockdown too (didn't have much other choice) so we will see what happens to them. Hatch day for most of them is on Saturday. So hopefully when we get back from helping a friend move, there will be lots of chirps coming from my bator!

Thank you for your help and all the great info.

DUCKS!
I found a good article on NIACIN DEFICIENCY if anyone wants to have a look......

Are My Ducklings' Leg Problems Due to a Niacin Deficiency?

Niacin is a critical vitamin required for the correct development of ducklings and goslings. In fact, waterfowl have a higher requirement for niacin (also called nicotinic acid) than chickens. Niacin is formed from the amino acid tryptophan and waterfowl do not synthesize niacin well from tryptophan

Hi all just got a message from Sally that I should post on here about my hatch and get the much needed support since this is my first hatch. To start off which came first the eggs or the incubator? In my case the eggs but I didn't panic. I ordered the incubator on the Monday before thanksgiving 2012, thought I might get it before thanksgiving no such luck. Eggs were shipped out on Monday got them on Wednesday ok so they needed to settle anyways right? Got the farm innovations egg incubator with the fan, heater and egg turner it was the least expensive one I could find that had all the options I wanted that held a good number of eggs 42. So incubator is delivered Friday morning, I set it up and put the dial to halfway check it and hour later temp is 80 slightly adjust come back in 1/2 hour now at 85 continue this process until I get it to 99.5 leave it for 1/2 hour to see if maintains temp it does already have water in bottom humidity good. The eggs got from seller on BYC just a cheap colorful assortment special requested at least 4 red production and seller came thru. Lots of EE and 2 Dominique eggs candled at 10 days marked ones that I could confirm good left for 4 more days candled again culled 6 eggs no sign of life did egg topsy 5 no fertility and one had been and I don't know if it died because I culled it by mistake the night before or if it had stopped developing it was a chocolate egg so I may have not been able to confirm due to darkness. When i candled the second time i was showing my friend what i was looking for in the eggs and chose a big Dominique egg and i swear there were 2 inside of it, but time will tell if i am right or not? Oh the candling light that comes with the kit sucks, my little emergency led flashlight works much better. Yesterday, day 19, removed eggs from turner no funky smells so I assume all is well with remaining 12 added wet sponges to increase humidity and water to channels put eggs into egg carton with air sack on top. Into lockdown keep catching hubby coming out of hatching room checking to make sure he saw what he thinks he saw. I pointed out to him the eggs were slightly moving and he cannot believe his eyes because its so slight. Friday tomorrow is day 21 I know by reading it can take longer but I hope I don't miss all of it tonight. To be continued.......

WOW you have a wonderful assortment of eggs, what a pretty hatch this one will be!! AWESOME!!
Oh Twins!! This should be interesting!! There is a thread on here where they DID hatch twins, have you seen it? PREtty cool stuff, the videos are removed but you can find them on youtube!

My candler too! I use a maglite now, some people swear by their light on their cells! never tried it though!
Sounds like you have everything under control, you did your homework!! YAY!! I am sure your gonna catch them hatching!!!
I tried video taping the eggs rocking but I swear they know when they are on film little stinkers!!
That means they are getting into position! Once you see the first external pips it could take an hour or up to 24+ until hatch! Its a stressful but AMAZING TIME!!!

We expect pip pics any minute!!!
