update on the silkie chick unable to stand or unwilling to stand. I put hobbles on him so at least he would hold his legs together. I also made some rings out of cardboard to try to keep him upright. It kinda works. I guess time will tell.

Is she eating and drinking Keric>?

well, no one yell at me

but...

i couldn't stand it anymore and i opened the hatcher and grabbed an egg out, i candled it and couldn't see anything so i decided to peek inside. i made a small opening in the air cell and guess what????

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!

YEAH! so i put a wet paper towel on the opening and put the egg back in the bator. now i just need to sit on my hands and wait!!!! i do feel much better waiting now that i know they're alive!!

this is 1st set coming of "won" eggs! I am hearing I am wacked for choosing these over the wellsumers and exibition RIR. But I gotta stick as close to what I got as I can! I cant build more coops!

I just had another look at the pic. Is that poop on her butt? I can't tell for sure, even if I blow up the pic. But watch out for pasty butt (poop getting stuck and clogging up their backsides). It can kill them. A little apple cider vinegar (ACV) in her water will help. Good luck with the little one.

hey sally sunshine. i know you--you have been helpful to me before thanks for that! i set 45 shipped eggs this morning-- 15 speckled susex, 17 bcm and 13 swedes.

i had fun in last year's ground hog day hatch! i wonder if anyone else is hatching on ground hog day 2013?

i have only set shipped eggs one other time and it was disastrous.

YAY!! when is Ground Hog day? I better not miss that one!! LOL
I did good with Maran and Brahma..... any bantam is tough tough tough those air cells rupture fast! Polish not a good hatch, silkies never a good hatch

It all depends on the USPS... but I def see a trend with them.... my serama didnt have too many bad cells and they came over from CA twice.

I made the kiddos a copy of these pancakes for GHDAYlast year!!! they loved it!! he he
