I hear you

I tapped the remaining eggs. One's quiet and the other one gave me an earful! So, if all goes well, 5 out of 6 eggs. NOT bad!

And talking of the article. I kicked myself this morning for not having the camera charged for pics of the membrane etc. Sorry! I'll be better prepared new time.

Woot!

One out of 22 hatched and 2 more zipping. I moved the bators into the living room for this hatch due to temp fluctuations in the other place I usually put it. The bedrooms are right off of this living room.

Long night of endless chirping in our future.

I did a day 11 candle since the eggs are finally developed enough to tell, and it looks like, out of the 21, there are 2 inferts. And 1 quitter- all the other 18 are developing perfect!

I really hope they all hatch for you! I am waiting for Friday to candle mine- then it will be day 7.

I got my shipment in from McMurray! Still trying to figure out half the chicks breeds though.

Mystery Chick #1. This fuzzy is the only one like this in the whole box.


Mystery Chick #2; also a stand alone chick. There is a grey spot between his/her shoulderblades.


And I am leaning Black Giant but I am not sure. I have 4 others just like her.

Whatever they are, they're cute! D

I think I might have found out the reason why Hope crows without sound when it is breezy or I accidentally breathe on her feathers the wrong way!:

There are several things that can cause that behavior.
If theres no sound, I don't think you can call it a crow, it is probably just a yawn, or something may not have gone down the right way, or if it continues repeatedly and frequently, it could be gape worm, but Id say it is most likely just a yawn.
Someone else pointed out to me once, a feather tickling their ear can also cause them to do that.

interesting! and hope looks so pretty!! she actually looks a lot like the chicken that my friend hatched with the eggs i sent him this summer. this is my friend's chicken Tyrtle from a month or two ago:
