Hey guys, well done with the chicks and eggs etc. Sorry I'm neglecting you again. We're very busy house hunting and I've been so distracted this past few days. Good news is we got a GREAT agent helping us find the perfect spot for us and our chickens. She's totally with me on my chicken plans and she's looking for something suitable for us and my plans. We're going to view another property tomorrow in a lovely area with a "couple of acres". So

Hope just loves being with me on the computer and dust bathing in a box beside me. :D

The green egg was not fertile, and I also broke another egg that was not fertile, and I think there is one more not fertile egg in there. So now I have 9 good eggs.

Day 10-11 now.

I just did the last candle before lockdown. All 19 fertile eggs were alive and moving with veining and look ready to hatch. Lockdown starts tomorrow, and they should be hatching by Thursday or Friday!!!!!!! :D

...now tracking down some more eggs.

Sally the bloody umbilical is still attached to my one chick. I am leaving it. Tried to wash but I did not want to pull it. Treating it with vetericyn and keeping an eye on it, It has a piece of shell stuck to it.

Thinking if I treat it like a baby umbilical then maybe it will fall off when ready.
