you could drive here and get the trio I just hatched from CPL LOLtotally not into turkeys. For as much as it costs to feed and only needing 1-2 a year not sure the cost balances out for me. Now button quail eat a whole lot less and will make one sweet Harmony happy.![]()
I have a lady local that has had me on her list for cream legbar eggs for a while. She emailed me said my name was up next...what to do since the eggs alone will cost a small fortune and I have eggs arriving Wednesday.
Haha, I think I am in the right place then. I was just looking for more online! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!LOL we all say we wont do shipped eggs again!! he he he
Oz, I now know that! I think I will be purchasing one today! Dry as in not wet, haha. I don't know, it was touching their skin and not moist looking. It didn't look like leather though.judging shipped egg aircells is a crap shoot as they are often just not shaped right.
there is a small scale on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P1NYE8/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Its $6.30 and a great investment - atleast to you get a better understanding of air cells.
How Dry is dry?
ANY INTERNAL PIP needs to get to lockdown!OK you guys can tell me I am in the wrong place if you need to. Won't hurt my feelings at all. But I would like to show you a pic of the air sac line for the eggs I have coming up. I know you say it is a crap shoot but yesh they look huge on these tiny eggs this lady sent me. Also I just candled them, I was about to do lockdown tonight (day 17, today) because I am busy tomorrow. I saw an internal pip or one fighting the membrane, should I go ahead and go into lockdown? I think I am going to hate this staggered hatch. You guys might too. Should I move over to a hatch a long, seriously tell me if I should?
what! then your getting into the wrong business!!We seldom buy turkey meat, but we bought our first whole turkey the other day. It was such a good price I couldn't resist and I now wish I bought 2! If I remember correctly it was around E9.00 and it was a big one. DH roasted it and we barely ate a 1/4. I deboned the rest for future meals and I was amazed how much meat we got off it. I'm toying with the idea of raising a couple for Xmas too. Someone told us recently they sell their free range turkeys for E100.00 each in December. Now that is a rip off![]()
