hmmm this one looks show quality to me!

totally not into turkeys. For as much as it costs to feed and only needing 1-2 a year not sure the cost balances out for me. Now button quail eat a whole lot less and will make one sweet Harmony happy.

I have a lady local that has had me on her list for cream legbar eggs for a while. She emailed me said my name was up next...what to do since the eggs alone will cost a small fortune and I have eggs arriving Wednesday.

you could drive here and get the trio I just hatched from CPL LOL

LOL we all say we wont do shipped eggs again!! he he he
Haha, I think I am in the right place then. I was just looking for more online! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!

judging shipped egg aircells is a crap shoot as they are often just not shaped right.

there is a small scale on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P1NYE8/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its $6.30 and a great investment - atleast to you get a better understanding of air cells.

How Dry is dry?
Oz, I now know that! I think I will be purchasing one today! Dry as in not wet, haha. I don't know, it was touching their skin and not moist looking. It didn't look like leather though.

OK you guys can tell me I am in the wrong place if you need to. Won't hurt my feelings at all. But I would like to show you a pic of the air sac line for the eggs I have coming up. I know you say it is a crap shoot but yesh they look huge on these tiny eggs this lady sent me. Also I just candled them, I was about to do lockdown tonight (day 17, today) because I am busy tomorrow. I saw an internal pip or one fighting the membrane, should I go ahead and go into lockdown? I think I am going to hate this staggered hatch. You guys might too. Should I move over to a hatch a long, seriously tell me if I should?

your kidding me!

PERHAPS we should all think again about the benefits of raising our own turkey! Maybe its not all about the feed bill! eeeewww

first info I pull is this!

Broad-Breasted Whites

These are the "modern" turkey breed that are raised in factory farm settings across the United States. They maximize the conversion of feed to white breast meat in the shortest possible time. But this efficiency is not without problems. Broad-Breasted Whites can't walk or fly, are prone to disease, and can't reproduce without artificial insemination. They don't taste too great, either.

We seldom buy turkey meat, but we bought our first whole turkey the other day. It was such a good price I couldn't resist and I now wish I bought 2! If I remember correctly it was around E9.00 and it was a big one. DH roasted it and we barely ate a 1/4. I deboned the rest for future meals and I was amazed how much meat we got off it. I'm toying with the idea of raising a couple for Xmas too. Someone told us recently they sell their free range turkeys for E100.00 each in December. Now that is a rip off

ANY INTERNAL PIP needs to get to lockdown!

That's what we are here for! we can at least try, I WILL tell you though air cell judgment through images is tough! You are the only one that knows the details of its environment from day one and u are THE BEST to judge, I agree this is why we should all weigh. post away!
