I took your advise, taking a break from unnecessary drama LOL
was it infert?I took two dead eggs out of my 'bator yesterday. One was totally clear, not even a blood ring, and one looked like it quit between day 6 and 7. The quitter looked odd though. There was no blood. None. No veins, no ring, nothing. Is that normal in a quitter?
awww that's a big bummer for sure!I'm guessing the clear one was infertile, but the yolk broke, so there is no way to be sure. The quitter obviously wasn't. There was a tiny 6 day gestation fetus in there. Just no blood at all.
And with that, I'm down to 2 cream legbar eggs. One is developing, but it's the one that had a crack in it (fixed with nail polish) and the other one I can't quite tell.
Alexander still won't eat or drink. I tried shoving his beak in the water, but I didn't have any luck. How long can a chicken last without water?
I'm getting really worried. I love him so much and he is extremely friendly. I guess I should start a thread.
Black betty has two pips!!! but the other two look a few days later by air cells! is that ok?
YAY!! how was that warm sand under foot my friend!
CONGRATS on the new Badge!!![]()

Thank you so much for the page packed full of info, Sally. I'm a first time hatcher and keep referring back to it. I've been calling it, "The Hatcher's Bible".I especially liked your forms. I tweaked them a bit so they could be printed out and used, and now religiously keep track of all the major stuff, as well as minute details in a notebook I keep next to the info sheets. It's nice to be able to look back to see what I did, when.![]()
Got some OEs, a mix of marans, and a few welsummer eggs in a Hovabator 1588 on day 15. I'm setting some more today in my coolerbator. Bantam phoenix, BLRWs, and ameraucanas. I prefer my coolerbator, I've been building them for a few years for reptiles using proportional thermostats and flexwatt, and love the consistency I get out of the setups. Temps have only been varying .2 degrees in that bad boy. I'll use the styro bator to hatch.
Anywho, wanted to bookmark the thread and say thank you for all your efforts.
