Well I did a cruddy bandaging job on the feet. It looks so easy in the pics but so much harder with a squirming chick. I will probably leave it on for a day or two if even that long and then change it out. Maybe use cardboard technique instead.

YIPPY fLUFF BUTTS!!! I hope you can get those feet all fixed up fast!

Hi everyone I have four and 1/2 hatched. one has fist feet so I am reading how to fix that.


I had to separate these three from the fist footed one because they had started to pick at its toes. They weren't in this box long.

Just went to open MIL's bantams and one of them hatched a little white chick last night

She's got 5 broody hens at the moment! Who needs an incubator? LOL

Ok so three perfectly healthy chicks, one curly toe chick, and the fifth was partially shrink wrapped( I freed him this morning hopefully he will get stronger)! The sixth egg was full of liquid when I looked yesterday when I took out the three healthy chicks.


Its a little hard to see but the yellow fuzzball and two of the darker fuzzballs in the back are the new chicks.






This is the one that was shrink wrapped starting to move around.



And curly toes!

Hi everyone!

Curly still has curly toes but they aren't quite as bad as when they were fist feet. I redid his foot bandages with some cardboard to make it firmer and the toes were looking a little better already

.

The last chick hatched is still not fluffy probably because of the shrink wrap goo so I may have to gently was him off. Fortunately his one slightly curled toe looks fine today. Shrink and Curly are bator mates for the time being because I don't have another brooder yet.

sounds like Curly is in good hands.

I moved my little chicks out to the big coop. I rigged up the heat lamp but not sure I will use it. They are in a separate cage so no one will pick on them. I put the ducklings outside in a cage in the sun earlier and let them "bathe". Water was flying everywhere. I wish they would hurry and feather out so they can be outside and have all the water they want.

Sally you have a lot to look forward to with ducks. I'll post a pic later so you can see the mess.

i am wondering if you are having issue with posting?
. I noticed you had the same problem i did with the icons for photos and smilies a few days ago the whole icon line actually dissapeared... Then came back .
Now i cant post using my normal Explorer on BYC.
Box comes up and says i havent writing a message or says the server cant send the message

Have to go to an old dial up i have or use my phone. to post Just on BYC Wonder if any one else has this probem

Support told me to clear the temp cookies but my computer does that already automatically

If you have this problem try going on BYC thru another server.
It will work .
