Oh sorry I'm here! I've been a little busy lately... My school decided to overload is with work so I've been spending a lot of time studying and the rest I've been helping out with some Christmas stuff at my town and with a little farm next to my neighborhood. What did I miss??????

Hello, I have been busy lately trying to incubate my first (sort of) batch of eggs, so I guess I'll talk about them. Now, I know that most people on here have had their hatching eggs transported through the mail, but I got mine from down the road. xD I guess you could say I transported them by car to my house... lol Anyway, they are at day 8 in incubation, and they are half rhode island red half white leghorn. (the mothers are rhode island reds, while the male is the white leghorn, so it will not make sex links- I looked up the genetics of chickens, so I'm pretty confident in my assumptions) I am super excited! I started with 18 eggs, but then I noticed that one had a crack in it, so I threw it out. Then just last night, I threw out four more duds. Now I have 13 eggs in my incubator.

My incubator is home- made, but I looked up a lot of info, so I hope it works good. I just heard that in a still- air incubator, you should move the eggs around so they develop at the same rates. I turn them three times a day, and keep the water reservoirs filled up. :3 They are due to hatch on December 15.

I would be ecstatic if ONE hatched! Fingers crossed that they make it to day 21 okay!

seriously.... Harmonys (my little girls) Serama eggs are the same age so we will hatch some at the same time!!!

31 chicken (mostly pullet eggs still guh) 1 "pullet" cayuga duck to see what happens 1 banty & 2 turkey eggs goin in the bator today. Ordered me some parts for the ultra-bator to upgrade it and some thermostat parts to turn the coolerbator into a dedicated hatcher for the time being

Oh, cool! My nose will definitely be glued to the glass when they start to hatch!
