Hello all! I would like to pick your brains this morning. I’ve heard so many of you talk about not using your incubator for lockdown and the hatch. Over the weekend, I decided to make my own “hatcher” versus using my new incubator for the last three days. I am no electrician, and after several attempts, blowing the circuits and wiring the thermostat (my first shot I accidentally wired it for a 220, oops!), the bulb, placing in water trays, baskets and insetting glass viewing windows… I think we’re good to go. It’s staying at a consistent average temperature of 101 (thermal; no fan) with the humidity of 65-67% (Dry hatch method). I’m pretty proud of myself. I’m a little nervous about trying to install a fan. Do you think I should try my first lockdown period in my new “hatcher”? Is it ok that there isn’t a fan. Here it is:

I would add a fan or two honestly. 120v fans would be the least headache to wire in without having to step down to 12v

sometimes fans can help sometimes it does not matter ... i personally only do still air with no fan but i think its rather up to the person and what they want or like ...
