I’ve heard so many of you talk about not using your incubator for lockdown and the hatch. Over the weekend, I decided to make my own “hatcher” versus using my new incubator for the last three days. I am no electrician, and after several attempts, blowing the circuits and wiring the thermostat (my first shot I accidentally wired it for a 220, oops!), the bulb, placing in water trays, baskets and insetting glass viewing windows… I think we’re good to go. It’s staying at a consistent average temperature of 101 (thermal; no fan) with the humidity of 65-67% (Dry hatch method). I’m pretty proud of myself. I’m a little nervous about trying to install a fan. Do you think I should try my first lockdown period in my new “hatcher”? Is it ok that there isn’t a fan. Here it is:
