My 1st Article Submission.....

And Sumi gave me a little incentive to finish writing it!

My Article is being submitted because I almost lost my Beautiful Blue Cochin, Fluffy due to Vent Gleet this past Summer. What a stressful learning experience and WOW hard to find information to treat naturally. My girl was so thin and so wasted away and this treatment was AMAZING so I just have to share everything I learned in the process this past summer, and trust me I kept ALL the information I found and all the pictures I took when I was trying so hard to figure out what was wrong! So sharing is hoping to help someone else in that same stressful situation to get through and have the info they need at hand.

Vent Gleet aka "Nasty Chicken Butt"

Can chicks get that? Hope has a bit of brown smushy poo under her bum that doesn't look like it's drying up and her poo is light brown and kind of bubbly...? Maybe I'm just a worry- wart.

Thats just pasty butt, chicks get it alot... I just warm water rag their but and gently keep mushing the poo with my nails and keep wetting and it eventually falls off... keep up with that, or they could impact the butt!

Sumi and other will tell you to use ACV in warm water, works too, I am just lazy and alot of peepers lol

Great pictures... Wow! We have a lot if talented folks on here. So, I'm now on day 18 and I have just placed my eggs in the homemade hatcher. I lined in pencil all the air sacks and notice that one of the 6 eggs air cell is smaller. Not by a great difference... But enough for me to tell. It looked the same candleing, just a tad smaller air cell. I know this is probably silly, but is this normal? I know we are all different and develope different... Blah blah blah so maybe I'm just starting (Ha!!!) to get anxious. I'll take pictures when I'm done feeding horses.

Just candled a few of my eggs, just to cure curiosity and all of the 6 I looked at were growing!!! The two duck eggs I checked, I could see their little hearts beating away! Makes me happy, I'll sleep good tonight!

Yup thats typical with air cells, they are so weird at times esp with shipped eggs!
