No she was already dead when he took her out of the shell to see what went wrong. I didn't even get to look at the membranes ...I just peaked at her after to see if she was absorbed or not. As much as I had the humidity up I still think she was getting sticky...I had that feeling but everytime I checked she seemed moist and then if I moved the membrane it would bleed a little so I wrapped her n put her back...I dont know...I take things to hard I admitt ...I am taking a break for awhile

So sorry Kelly! I had one of my healthy chicks just collapse & die on me last week. There was no rhyme or reason to it. The chick was healthy as could be and running around with the others just an hour before it happened. These things do happen sometimes before they hatch and sometimes after. It doesn't make sense to us because we have no answers. Don't beat yourself up because you did the best you could which is more than what would've occurred naturally. Enjoy the chicks you have now & you'll no when its time to try hatching again. We're all here to support you. Hang in there & chin up! ;-)

Day 10, candled and removed three eggs. Egg 1 was DEF a blood ring, egg 8 was a blood ring and egg 20 I am 90% sure was a blood ring. 20 was a very dark egg but there was a general line around the middle with two pieces of it being very dark.

18 is definently a saddle shaped air cell now. Most of the eggs were actually getting a bit difficult to see inside, just getting dark in there! I even saw movement in #14!!

Ya...well after Damon took off the shell...her eyes were open and looked as if she had just finished absorbing. Maybe she got dried out..and couldn't move. I feel super guilty because I fell asleep around that time only for about a half an hour and when I jumped out of bed to check her she was lifeless
