Oh, and I almost forgot! Yoke chick is doing well, the sac is still there I am sure but shy of pulling the chick out to look I can't see it. Little peeper is loud and still trying to escape the dish, which the larger chick was able to do. I am debating removing the buddy chick, s/he is mostly dry, or at least as dry as possible considering the humidity. S/he also appears to be trying to eat the old egg shells. :/

follow up: (breech chick). after helping with chipping too early--i put the egg back in the incubator. a popped in some wet paper towels to the incubator to bring up humidity. about an hour later i started getting real worried about shrink wrap, so i took a 3 inch by 3 inch wet paper towel corner and laid it over the exposed membrane, being careful not to cover the breathing hole.

i went to bed and when i awoke the chick had hatched. it seems a little weak and a little sticky, but ok.

thanks for your help!

one thing i've learned-- whether it is just a coincidence or not--is that the lower left hand corner of my incubator always makes a stuck chick.

and, gosh, even though my humidity meter seems to say my humidity is fine--maybe it isn't. and the weird thing is i calibrated it.

well, going to give these other 24 eggs some more time, but i'm not going to bet the farm on them. no pips as of now. day 22. 7 chicks under the brooder. 2 were busted aircells.
I would follow the assist article Kefiren, it sounds like you may also have really thick shells like Harmonys serama.

Candle and tap to look for movement, internal pips and chirping! I wouldnt wait too long just in case! just do them fast and even if you have to mist the lid or side of the bator to keep humidity up I would!

AWESOME!!!   your a good momma and she is still good and strong right???   are you adding electrolites?

I couldn't find it(I have a bag of vitamin/electrolyte powder somewhere but I think it became the victim on an organizational spree) so I went with the next best substitute, a tiny dash of AVC in the water. I will probably order some more vitamin powder just because it if I don't I will never find the vitamin powder and if I do I will probably find the old one the day after the.new arrives.

And now there are 5! #18 officially hatched. S/he is tired and resting now but had just finished poping her lid when I came back upstairs. Now s/he just needs to get that behind out of the carton!

The chick is having problems getting out of the bottom half, looks like he is a bit stuck. Going to read up on sticky chicks. But since he is already, ostly out do I need to help or will he be able to finish himself? It's been over an hour... And how likely does this make it that other chicks are stuck?
