Wow! A lot has happened while I was moving. I'm still in the middle of the chaos of it all. Congrats on all the new hatches! I may be game for the Easter hatch as well.
Hello stranger!

How did the move go? I haven't been keeping up with this thread either, don't worry! And we are probably going to be moving ourselves by the end of this month. Having issues with this house and our landlord isn't keen on sorting it out. We are going to look at another rental tomorrow. I'll keep y'all posted.

Did you set eggs etc? What happened there?

I can't seem to get my humidity up above 59% What can I do to bring it up? Here's a picture of what I've got inside my 'bator, I don't have any more room for more dishes! I circled the additional dishes in red, the square dish is what I'll have in there the whole hatch.

Surface area is what is going to bring it up so the tiny glasses won't do much. I wet a paper towel or sponge and lay in mine before lockdown as well as filling the troffs

I am wondering if you can use the side of the bator on the light side, make a wire basket that will lay flat with the side so you can slip an nice big thin sponge in it. The light may dry it out faster but it may be what you need to boost it, but that may be too much so maybe the other side..... I would try hanging a rag down one side and seeing which is best for upping it before any mods. most people only think about the floor area of their bators, well we have a sides to a bator too!

I agree great idea something fixed to the side

Fixing something to the side will be tricky. I'm going to see if I have an appropriately shaped dish for a full sponge upright next to the lightbulb first (where the two dishes are)

Maybe hold up the lights somehow so you can put a large tray of water under it?

Is there anyone on here that would want the 12 Olive Eggers I won? I let the women know that I was going to decline them because I am so afraid to mix larger breeds with my small Silkie-Frizzles ...I think I am over my head with Roosters now I don't want a big Roo...or have to find homes for big Roos. She said she was happy I was honest and could gift them to someone. So I thought I'd put it out there...they are coming from this farm http://www.adamsonacres.com/details.htm
